A luxury Liverpool sportswear brand has signed a mega deal worth £25m to become kit sponsors for Steven Gerrard’s Rangers.
Castore, run by Wirral brothers Tom and Phil Beahon, who are ex athletes themselves, has agreed a long-term deal with the Glasgow club.
The new partnership will start from next season, and see Castore supply Rangers with all on and off-field technical apparel and take over their physical and e-commerce retail operations, including the Ibrox stadium megastore.
It’s the city centre firm’s first move into professional football. Last year, it launched a partnership with tennis star Sir Andy Murray, and earlier this year, entered the world of cricket to become the kit supplier for the West Indies Cricket Federation. It has also signed a further partnership with McLaren.
Reds legend Gerrard said: “This is a significant moment for our football club.
“The Beahon brothers, like myself, are proud of our Liverpudlian roots. Liverpool and Glasgow are proud cities. In both cities, the city makes the football club, and the football club makes the city.
“Rangers wants to be the best, and to help us do that, our players, staff and supporters deserve the best. The design and high-quality product provided by Castore suggests they share our ambition.
