Sky Sport’s leading Boxing Presenter, and former WBO Champion Johnny Nelson, is spending the night on the streets of Sheffield to raise awareness for the plight of the homeless, not just in his hometown City but also nationally.
When Johnny was approached by friend Dan Hatfield and his sister, he had no hesitation in signing up. Johnny, who made his name in Sheffield training with the legendary Brendan Ingle said ‘We need to raise the awareness of people’s plights but also much needed funds to help’
With over 250,000 people homeless – a 30% increase in those that do sleep rough – Johnny was more than happy to sleep on the street, after all as he says “It’s just for one night, for some this is their life”
Johnny and friends are hoping to raise enough funds to give the homeless a decent Christmas. You can support Johnny and friends, at Sheffield Cathedral, 861 Ecclesall Road S11, Thursday 8 December by donating here
